A Q&A with projects.
Warning: extremely vague wording ahead.
I have two projects that have been swirling around in my head for a while, but I'm not ready to talk about them with you just yet. Soon.
Actually, it's more like four projects.
But they're all versions of one project.
Confused yet?
So, because of the swirling status of these projects, the first thing to do is investigate. And one way to investigate is to use the kind of post-Dance of Shiva questions we used on retreat.
Kind of like an interview, but without those trick questions about strengths and weaknesses and why are you leaving your current position? Right.
Project A answers some questions.
What are you, at your core? What are some qualities that would describe you?
Collaboration, of course. And also ease.
Freedom. Relief.
A shift in perspective.
Spaciousness, as in letting air in, opening a window, opening up to the sky.
Love. Excitement. Appreciation.
What do you want to tell me, Project A?
This is a good thing to do. You know that. It's not as scary as it seems. You can do this right now. You have the skills.
What do you know that I don't?
That this is really the way to go.
Oh! Actually, I'm so excited for you! The beginning was cleaning your slate, but this is also part of the beginning. These things are happening because you took that step. You're already seeing results. Holy crap!
Listening to your business, getting where it wants to go, and then taking charge, finding the loving, elegant solution -- these are huge steps. Project A? Me? I'm the result of listening to your business. It's the beginning of big, positive changes for you.
For sure, you need a closing ritual or celebration or something for leaving the old behind! Good thing New Year's is coming up.
How far away are you?
I'm right here.
You can see me.
You can hear me.
We can start working together right now!
What could I be doing that would help the most?
Dance of Shiva, of course. Create mind maps. Don't think any plans need to be set in stone just yet. Get crazy with it [me?]. What's the most outlandish thing you can think of? [Uh ... ] Write that down.
Project B answers some, too.
What are you, at your core? What are some qualities that would describe you?
Contemplation.
Ease. Comfort. Safety. Acceptance.
Love. Support.
Freedom. Fun. Epiphanies.
What do you want to tell me?
Project B -- me -- I'm a good thing to do, too.
It doesn't matter if it all pans out. Maybe it's not a realistic project for right now.
It doesn't matter. It's going to help you expand your thinking.
It's going to help you know, if you were a leader in this project, or a participant, how could it be supportive for you? You can use that information in so many ways. For the people who read you. But also for yourself, for your own self-care. It's going to help you grow this overall idea.
What do you know that I don't?
That you're really going to do this! You! This thing! Things, actually -- plural!
How far away are you?
A little farther than Project A. But not too far.
We're related. So anything you do to work on Project A, you're also doing to work on me. I may be about a year away from completion but I'm ready to work with you now, and you're ready to work with me.
So in a sense, I'm right here, too, just like Project A.
What could I be doing now that would help the most?
Whatever mindfulness you bring to anything also counts as working on me, time spent with me. Your time expands to include work on all your projects at once! [Whoa.]
So work on me, work on Project A, and don't worry about what shape things will take.
Mind maps. Lots of them.
Possibilities.
Map some possibilities.
