process

What if it stops working?

The thing about noticing what you need is: it's a never-ending process.

You might think that you've got the perfect routine to support your writing practice, for instance.

But if you keep paying attention, you'll find that -- maybe gradually, maybe all at once -- it doesn't work anymore.

It might be only certain elements, it might be the whole shebang.

You'll notice this same phenomenon with your go-to tricks for soothing and calming yourself when you're upset.

Or your tried-and-true methods for keeping your body feeling good and energized.

What do I know about rest?

What do I know about rest?

Well, duh, I need it. I need a lot of rest.

A lot.

I know it's okay that I need a lot of rest. Probably most people do, they just don't recognize it. Like Shannon wrote about thinking one thing is happening when the data suggests otherwise.

I can think of myself as just like most other humans -- we need a lot of rest.

Going all 'Meet Your Project.'

We're coming to the end of the June session of 'Why Not Now?' and it's been amazing and inspiring.

Seriously.

We won't have another on until September. (It's already starting to fill up.)

But you can still download the free audio class, 'Meet Your Project,' which I created to help ease the Why-Not-Now-ers into the projectizing we do.

Gently questioning assumptions.

smArts & Culture becomes Kindergarten Mind.

Well, I told you this day was coming, and I couldn't be more excited.

Last night smArts & Culture became Kindergarten Mind, and will live at kindergartenmind.com.

I am in wonderful hands for this transformation. At the same time, you know technology: it's full of surprises. So if you notice anything odd, it's probably just the process of transition.

Tea and therapy with 'Why Not Now?'

When I gave you my Play Date report last Tuesday, I talked about sitting down to tea with my page, specifically the 'Why Not Now?' page. And the program itself. Which is not as confusing as it might seem.

After I brewed some licorice tea, we got down to talking.

My business, in an alternate universe.

Somehow, without meaning to, I've slid into planning mode. So I'm just going with it.

And not just planning.

Questioning.

Kindergarten Alone Time.

When I talked about recharging last week, I mentioned that I needed an alternate term for half-days.

Because half-days have a lot of baggage for me (mixed in with a few positive associations, too).
