  • Not really a documentary, but a film of a one-person show by Charles Nelson Reilly — the story of his life, and it's fascinating. He studied with Uta Hagen! His father turned down a job with Walt Disney and had a nervous breakdown! You can stream it from Netflix.
  • So, I tuned into that Google+ webinar Chris Brogan gave this week and I kinda sorta drank the kool aid.

  • How great is it that, when I work on Saturday, I'm actually playing? I'm talking about the live Play Date call with the Society of the Secret Play Date tomorrow!

The random.

  • Jenny, aka Cranky Fibro Girl, has a wonderful interview with coach and all-around awesome person Shannon that includes a description of NLP that makes it so much easier to understand -- I've always been a little vague on what it really means.

  • ' ... the best thing to come out of playing with my project instead of working on it is the new perspective.' Havi and Briana have written about their Secret Play Dates.

  • Need space for a performance, a lecture, or even a wedding in or around Philly? The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, along with Dance USA/Philadelphia, Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, and The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Music Project, has launched Philly Space Finder, a free resource that matches up people with space and the people who need it.

Being visible.

One of things I've noticed in the many years I've been going to live events in Philadelphia, is that it feels impossible to anticipate how many people will show up.

I never know if the thing is going to sell out (should I buy the tickets right now?) or if I'm going to be self-consciously sitting with only a handful of people in the audience, wondering why no one else was as excited about it.

Two people in fog.

How to start turning around your ick about the Facebook.

Jacquelyn and I had a blast doing our free class about Facebook for arts groups a couple of weeks ago. So much so that we're going to do it again.

I loved that, as people were dialing in and chit-chatting before we started, at least two people confessed how much they hated Facebook!

In the Facebook class!

If it's October, it must be ... Facebook?

Apparently October is something like "The Three Faces of Facebook Month" at smArts & Culture.

The number of people who signed up for the free class that Jacquelyn and I did last week, "Engage Your People with Facebook," was beyond thrilling. Seems we've hit a chord. So we decided to repeat the free class on October 14.

What's all this about, in a nutshell?

Last chance to sign up for free Facebook class.

Just a reminder that it's your last chance to sign up for the free class today with Jacquelyn and myself -- Engage Your People with Facebook.

Sign: Last Chance.

Feeling safe enough to say yes.

Remember when I was talking about finding a way in -- lowering barriers for yourself  to make it as easy as possible to start doing the thing you want to do?

In my case, it was getting back into making images.

I needed a safe and easy way to do it.

Safety signs.
